Where It All Begin

Indian born chef Rasheed is bringing a whole new dining experience to the city by launching his exciting menu of Indian Street Food and Craft Beer at Cafe Diwali.

Taking over the premises that was previously Cranes Wine Bar, the chef will be bringing the heart of India to the medieval city of Salisbury.

Rasheed always wanted to start a restaurant for a while, and now he is delighted to have finally found the right venue to share his exclusive range of delicious Indian food.

Rasheed aims to create a style of cooking his own way, making Cafe Diwali truly authentic taste of India.

Today we both had a thali for... read more our lunch - I had the sweet potato and my husband had chicken - the curries were mild but full of flavour - all prepared on the premises. Included was dal, rice, potato curry, chutney, naan bread and poppadum - simply delicious! We had baby bottles of prosecco at £6 each which were very good value indeed!

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are friendly and helpful but didn't rush us at all... read more after our meal so we had time to stay for a chat. The food was tasty and good value for money, particular the dosa. A good few vegetarian options to choose from. Lovely place!
